Embodiment & Disembodiment

"I used my other senses more like touching and hearing. I determined the shapes of things by touching. The memory of a rail, size of a step in a staircase and the flat surface of the wall. I was scared in the beginning but my awareness and memory of my morning routine of going to class started to come back to me. My heart beat intisified like a full on basketball game," (observations from Sensory Awareness exp. #5). The experiment was based on

Personal Response

I believe that our lives are completely controlled. How do I fight back and live my own free life? That's a question that keeps me continuing my own life. I am expected to go to college and have a great career. It's hard to achieve but that's what society expects from teenagers, such as myself. R.D. Laing says "Our behaviour is a function of our experience. We act according to the way we see things," and what he states is true but what life would we live without the type of experience we are recalling in our minds. This article just states the obvious and my life can't be alternated by his statements. My task is to fit into society, not roam the wild with a free mind. I've been influenced to work, get paid and have fun. That is what my life will continue to follow until I die. I have only gained an open mind by reading the article not a whole new understanding on life.

Men have killled their own kind for ages without end and that is something I have no control over. All humans do have a saying but I truly don't have the will power to take a stand. I can join a group of individuals that supports my thoughts and would have a voice in society but that is just adding on to more experiences that I would be basing my life on.

Some say life are full of choices but, those choices would lead us to be alienated even more. As those choices build up, my experiences build up and I would just be alienated from myself. There are no solutions.

Summary to "Normal Alienation From Experience"

Our lives are ran by what we have noticed and our past experiences. That life comes to a point of mayhem if people don't act w/o experience. We live out a life without a freemind, its something society's expectations control.

It seems as through every human has similar behavior because it's influenced by what keeps re-occuring in society and what we see. "Our behaviour is a function of our experience. We act according to the way we see things." Billions of men were killed by other humans because thats what war expects for a solution, it is what we see in the news and past war clips. It comes to a point that what we are contradicts what we want. That is if our behaviour would be alternated we might exterminate ourselves.

That each day a newborn gives hope for a more spiritual, open minded and self controlled person.
